Action methods for Trauma and PTSD

Non-Residential Weekend (18 hours of training)

This will be a weekend workshop aimed at equipping healers, therapist, with a tool box for intervening positively with patients, families and groups where trauma and post trauma reactions are creating problems. Based on the theories of Jacob Moreno, founder of the psychotherapeutic methods of Sociometry Psychodrama and Group Therapy, we will explore and practice with action-oriented techniques for trauma intervention. Participants can expect to: * learn and practice at least three techniques for trauma resolution * learn the basic theory underpinning action therapies, especially Psychodrama * Learn in action how to identify and intervene with people suffering from flashbacks nightmares and anxiety related to trauma * learn how to assist clients to identify unhealthy coping methods such as addictive behavior, develop more healthy methods for trauma

Facilitators

Mike Lee M.Div. TEP

Mike graduated from the University of Manitoba with a degree in pastoral psychology. Mike lives in Sundridge Ontario, where he works with trauma issues as a concurrent disorders therapist. Mike is a skilled facilitator and trainer for the Toronto Centre for Psychodrama and Sociometry. He has been involved with the TCPS for 19 years developing his deep love for psychodrama, and its close sister sociometry, and is looking forward to sharing this wisdom with you!
